One Personal Insight
One Marketing Tactic→ One Problem to SolveOne Long-term Trend
One Thought-provoking Question
One Great Resource
Let’s get going.
Personal Insight 🤯
6 months ago was my first day as a full-time Indie Entrepreneur.
I especially remember this viral announcement tweet: 330 impressions and 7 likes.
It was quite a ride. And here is the craziest part.
In June, MakerBox made $1900
In November, MakerBox made $12 000
These milestones are only 6 months apart. Not years, not decades. Just six months.
I believe this framework works with any digital skill:
In one month, you can see the first results
In six months, you can achieve the average results
In two years, you can become the top 1%
The question is, what two skills will you pick for 2023?
Marketing Tactic 🧭 → Problem to Solve 👹
I am bored with marketing tactics. Let’s try something different.
Every week I will find a huge pain point for Indie Makers to solve. So, if you are short on startup ideas, this topic is for you.
Analytics for No-code
What is worse than Google Analytics 4? Google Tag Manager.
These products are designed to be so complex you need to hire a freelancer to set them up. This is ridiculous in 2022.
Creators with no-code websites shouldn’t feel this pain. Attributing traffic sources, calculating conversions, and running AB experiments must be an enjoyable task to do.
But right now, it isn’t.
You are either stuck with overcomplicated Google products or Amplitude / Plausible analytics that are not suited for no-code websites.
This is a $19 monthly no-brainer for any Entrepreneur who uses Typedream, Webflow, or Framer. Build it, please.
Long-term Trend 🛸
AI or Human Touch
Today Twitter is bombarded with ChatGTP screenshots.
Here is my humble contribution to the Indie Maker community. Our new anthem.
This hype wave got me thinking that in 5-10 years, all successful digital products will fall into two categories.
Heavily relied on AI
Heavily relied on human touch
Need to find keywords for SEO? Ask an AI marketing co-pilot or go to the closed community of Founders. Listen to the advice you actually trust.
Want to understand AB tests? Ask AI to teach you. Or go to the YouTube channel of a digital marketer you have followed for the last 5 years. No searching Google to find random low-quality articles.
Bottom line? You either master technology or psychology.
Thought-provoking Question 🔋
Who is selling your product?
It’s not enough to acquire 10 000 website users. Somebody should actually sell them your product.
And you have four options to choose from:
Founder’s reputation (personal brand)
Product itself (product-led growth)
Friends and colleagues (social proof and community)
Sales managers (sales-led growth)
You can focus only on one strategy at a time.
Great Resource 🏈
Storytelling shouldn’t feel like magic.
It’s structure + emotions. Nothing else.
Mastering this skill will change your marketing forever. There is no turning back to dull and bland copy.
Start with the Story Spine Framework. It works perfectly with landing pages and Twitter threads.
Make your marketing memorable.
That’s it!
